AnnounceList is a web-based system for managing centrally administered announcement mailing lists, and is targeted for use by private clubs or groups. As well as storing members' email addresses, AnnounceList can store members' real names, mailing address, telephone number and comments, so it can also function as a rudimentary club membership database. The system can send either plain text or HTML emails, and supports attachments.

If you are looking for a tool that allows self-subscription, or one that allows members to post messages to a list, GNU Mailman is more suitable, but if you need a simple announcement mailing list/membership database system for a private club or group, AnnounceList could meet your needs.

AnnounceList was developed and tested on a GNU/Linux system running Apache 1.3, PostgeSQL 7.2.1 and PHP 4.1.2
